The Files API contains currently one operation returning the GTFS files. The General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) defines a common format for public transportation schedules and associated geographic information. GTFS "feeds" allow public transit agencies to publish their static transit data and developers to write applications that consume that data in an interoperable way. You can read more about the GTFS at https://developers.google.com/transit/gtfs/ The GTFS files are zipped within a file with a size of about 25 Mb. The GTFS files are updated every two weeks. Therefore getting that file once a day is quite enough.
